Excellent Cleaners is owned and operated by Doug Schmidt and his family. 
Before moving to Massachusetts, Doug spent two decades in the apparel industry in Manhattan becoming an expert in fabrics and clothing. When he was ready to open his own company, he knew he could put his expertise in apparel to good use in the dry cleaning business. In 2001, he took the plunge and opened Excellent Cleaners. 

Doug’s business plan is simple - provide top-quality customer service at a reasonable price and the rest will take care of itself. And it has. There are now two Excellent Cleaner’s locations in MetroWest and just 4 years after it opened, Excellent Cleaners earned the Readers Choice award for Best Dry Cleaner and Tailor.

Why has Excellent Cleaners become the cleaner of choice in MetroWest?
For one thing, unlike those chain stores, Excellent Cleaners puts customer service first. Just ask Anne-Marie Reinstein who needed to pick up a suit for an important business meeting. There was a terrible snowstorm and the traffic was so bad, Anne-Marie couldn’t make it to the Ashland store before it closed. She called Excellent Cleaners in Ashland and Doug answered. He agreed to keep the doors open so Anne-Marie could get her suit. Or you might ask the military reservist who was abruptly deployed to Afghanistan. He needed to get his uniform out of the Excellent Cleaners in Uxbridge right away. He called Doug at home and Doug went to the store, opened it up and handed him a freshly pressed uniform.
